Round-the-clock support including meals, snacks, and daily assistance in a warm, family-style environment. Veterans may choose single or shared room occupancy, ensuring comfort, security, and continuous care.

Reliable transportation for both medical appointments and non-medical outings, including activity centers, parks, community events, and other local destinations—helping veterans stay engaged, active, and connected.

Professional oversight to ensure all medications are taken safely and on schedule. We coordinate refills, monitor changes, and support each veteran’s healthcare plan with accuracy and compassion.

Short-term day or overnight stays for veterans who are not full-time residents. Ideal for families or caregivers needing temporary support in a safe, secure, and friendly veteran home environment.
In 2025, our Phenix City Branches for Veterans Home was honored with a distinguished recognition at the annual Veterans Day Celebration, where Mrs. Modell McKenzie and her husband Alferd ‘Mac” Mckenzie were celebrated for their faithful and heartfelt service to local veterans.
For many years, the McKenzies have opened their home—and their lives—to veterans in need through the Community Residential Care (CRC) program. Together, they have provided safe housing, daily support, and a genuine sense of family, offering stability, dignity, and care to those who once served our nation. Their shared devotion has made the Phenix City home a place of compassion, comfort, and renewed hope.
In appreciation of their extraordinary service, Highlands College presented them with a formal award of recognition and contributed two months of operating expenses, helping ensure that their essential mission continues to flourish.
This 2025 recognition remains a proud milestone in our history—honoring not only the McKenzies’ exceptional service, but also the enduring commitment of our organization to uplift, support, and stand beside our veterans.
